IB studio presents
a project by Arch. Beatrice Bonzanigo
Kindly hosted by
Galleria Post Design / Memphis
On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2019 (April 9-14) the CASA OJALÁ / INHABITING THE INFINITE CHOICE installation will be presented, a representation of the Casa Ojalá “Residential building with high flexibility”, a patented project by Architect Beatrice Bonzanigo (IB Studio) hosted by Post Design Gallery / Memphis in the heart of Brera, together with the exhibition Memphis + Post Design: a selection in 5 rooms. Fabric and material visuals will frame a scale 1:10 model to introduce the visitor to the world of infinite choice that Casa Ojalá offers to the public for the first time.
The flexibility of the space is made possible thanks to the innovative solution of sliding walls made in two different materials: fabric and wood.
For the sliding wooden walls, which are rolled up on posts placed at the edge of the circumference and in the center of the structure Wood-Skin Mesh Sheets were chosen with a vertical striped pattern.
Mesh Sheets offer a new way to design curved, wavy, and free-form surfaces from flat sheets. This game-changing technology unlocks the design potential of rigid surfaces, allowing the construction of elegant membranes with the same look, feel, and functional properties as lighter, more flexible materials like paper or fabric
